Murray Robertson was appointed Managing Director for Downer New Zealand, in September 2025, following a trans-Tasman role as Chief Operating Officer, Transport & Infrastructure. During his career with Downer, he has held a number of senior leadership positions, including Chief Executive Officer of Downer New Zealand and Executive General Manager roles with responsibility for Facilities and Hawkins.

Known for his authentic leadership style, strong work ethic, and pragmatic approach, Murray is passionate about building a high-performing culture grounded in shared values (tikanga). He believes these principles are fundamental to creating a workplace where people thrive and to differentiating the business within the industry.

Murray holds a New Zealand Certificate in Engineering (Civil), a Diploma in Environmental Technology, a Bachelor of Engineering, and an Executive MBA. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer, a Fellow of Engineering New Zealand, a Fellow of Engineers Australia, and a Chartered Director.
