Max Riley is Head of Enterprise Business Resilience at Chorus, where he leads critical functions spanning Safety, Quality, Business Continuity, Worker Welfare, Contract Management, and Operational Records Assurance & Integrity. Max was the leadership sponsor for Chorus in transitioning from the prescriptive CoPTTM to the risk-based NZGTTM. 

With more than 25 years’ experience across New Zealand and Australia, Max has held senior leadership roles at the intersection of health, safety, and organisational resilience. Prior to joining Chorus, he spent five years with Vodafone New Zealand (now One NZ). 

Max is passionate about strengthening organisational resilience, governance, and risk maturity. He also serves as an external advisor to the New Zealand Police Executive Health & Safety Committee, contributing strategic insight at executive level.
